travel // cycling on a fine summer day: Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park Northern Ireland

I'm trying to absorb as much of Ireland as I can before I leave for New York in August. Since the Giro d'Italia kicked off I've been more determined to use the cycling routes that are available in my home country Northern Ireland. As it turns out, there are plenty of them where I live, I can't believe such beauty is basically in my back garden!

These are the flowers that are in the walled garden in Lady Dixon Park

On the way home we spotted a bird that I have never seen before, we got taking to a fellow cyclist who said that it was a rare species. I had to stop to take a picture of it, but at this stage the light was very low, which is why the photo is such a low quality!
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
